Chiranjeevi, the Megastar of Tollywood today, was born on 22nd August of 1955 in Mogalturu, a small village in 'West Godavari' District in Andhra Pradesh to Sri Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi.

He grew up in his native village with his grand parents, while his family was elsewhere because of his father's occupation. The sense of discipline and hard work which he still embraces were introduced at a very young age in his life and the tough childhood he had, being the eldest in his family, have helped him to handle many such events of higher proportion with great expertise in the later stages of his life.Little did he imagine, even in the wildest of his dreams that he would, one day, be a Megastar and rule the Telugu Film Industry.

Years later, this youngster, dearly called "Chiru" in the Film Industry, with his hard work and dedication to his profession could make it really big in the field hitting the limelight, with an unparallel fan following emulating his every act, word, dress and dance. What makes this ordinary human being such an extraordinary one - Hardwork and Dedication!Varaprasad’s education was nomadic accounting to his father Venkat Rao’s frequent transfers to Ongole, Bapatla, Chirala, Nellore etc, which didn’t really defer Vara Prasad as he gained a great friend circle wherever he was.

Varaprasad is really fortunate for his father has constantly encouraged him after having discovered the undaunted liking of his son towards cultural activities.Varaprasad did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He also won first prize for his first performance as Parandamayya Panthulu. After high school, Varaprasad joined Bi.P.C in P.R.Sharma Jr. College at Ongole. Following that he finished his B.Com from Narasapur college.

After graduation, Varaprasad moved to Madras to seek a career in his chosen field of acting in the Film Industry. To get himself ready for the camera, he joined in a film institute. This was in 1977.Varaprasad was offered the lead role in the film Punaadi Raallu, produced by Sheikh Abdul Khadir in the direction of Raj Kumar, which has laid the foundation stone to the acting career of Vara Prasad as Chiranjeevi. Even though Punadi Raalu was his first movie, it was Pranam Kareedhu that was his first release. Pranam kareedhu directed by K Vasu was released on September 22nd, 1978.

The second movie to release was Manavuri Pandavulu from which Chiranjeevi started gaining recognition as hero among the spectators. In the beginning of his career, Chiranjeevi donned villain roles in films like Kukka Kaatuki Cheppu Debba, Kotthapeta Rowdi etc. His focused concentration in speedy dance movements, risky hair rising fights evoked immense response from the spectators.Chiranjeevi tied the wedding knot to Surekha, daughter of eminent yesteryear comedian Allu Ramalingayya, on 20th of February, 1980.

The auspicious time was 11:50 AM. The couple is blessed with 2 daughters, Susmitha and Srija and a son, Ram Charan Teja.Films like 'Kothala Raayudu', 'Punnami Naagu', 'Mogudu Kaavali', 'Kiraayi Rowdeelu', 'Subhalekha', 'Maga Maharaju', 'Intlo Raamayya-Veedhilo Krishnayya', 'Abhilasha', 'Manthri Gaari Viyyankudu' etc are the super-hits in his first phase.'Khaidi', released in 1983, gave Chiranjeevi a thrusting progress towards a commercial career. His fights and dance movements in this film are still a rage among the movie lovers. He never looked back after this. The films ala Goonda, Donga, Nagu, Adavi Donga, Yama Kinkarudu, Kirathakudu, Rusthum proved his fighting skills in action roles. He is referred to as Dynamic hero during that time.

The films ala Vijetha, Magadheerudu, KondaveetiRaja, Chantabbayi, Challenge, Rakshasudu, DongaMogudu showed his versatility in performance. The film Pasivadi Pranam, released in 1987, gave Chiranjeevi a super stardom. New style of dances were introduced. Chiranjeevi created waves with his steps which is known as "Break Dance".

In the same year he acted in SwayamKrushi in the direction of kalatapasvi K. Viswanath and won Nandi Award for his performance.Chiranjeevi is a Saleable Product, Chiranjeevi is a Hot cake - is what both industry people and the spectators chant beyond any doubt.

He gave super duper hits such as YamudikiMogudu, AthakiYamudu Ammayiki Mogudu.Chiru became Supreme Hero with Yamudiki Mogudu. The title "Megastar" was used for the first time while publicizing K.S.Rama Rao’s movie Marana Mrudangam which released in August 1988.

In the same year was released Rudraveena directed by K.Balachander, which bagged the "Nargis Dutt" award for Chiranjeevi in the national arena. The first half of 90’s decade peaked Chiranjeevi’s career graph to soaring heights for every movie released rewrote the box-office history. Gang Leader, Rowdi Alludu, Jagadeka Veerudu-Athiloka Sundari, Gharana Mogudu are only a few to be cited.Unfortunately, even the much bright star, Sun, encounters a phase of eclipse. And Chiranjeevi is no exception.

Movies like Mechanic Alludu, SP Parasuram, Big Boss, Rickshavodu proved to be commercially disastrous. Mugguru Mongallu, Alluda Majaka did average at the box office. Big Boss and Rikshavodu were mere formula films. The controversy raked by Alluda Majaaka for some double-intender dialogues and few scenes affected Chiranjeevi’s image among his fans.

Chiranjeevi threw a self-declared 'gap' after Rickshavodu to have a self-scanning of his conscience and thus emerged out with much mature and versatile portrayal with the film Hitler followed by 'Master', 'Baavagaaru Baagunnara', 'Choodaalani Vundi', ''Sneham Kosam', 'Sneham Kosam', 'Iddaru Mithrulu', 'Annayya', 'Indra', 'Stalin', 'Shankar Dada MBBS' and Chiranjeevi fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Shankar Dada Zindabad.Chiranjeevi didn’t limit himself only to Telugu spectators.

He is well acclaimed by Bollywood for his films 'Prathibandh', 'Aaj ka Goondaraj'. The dubbed version of 'Gang Leader', The hunters of the Indian treasure, introduced Chiranjeevi to foreign spectators as well.CHARITY & SERVICES: On October 2, 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which includes Chiranjeevi Blood and Eye Banks. It is the state's largest recipient of Blood and Eye Donations.

The Blood Bank of the CCT helped over 80,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped about 1000 people in the state of Andhra Pradesh since its opening. So far around 3.5 lakh people have pledged their eyes to CCT so far, giving 1600 people eye sight through CCT. Disappointments:
Theme
Dialogue
Lack of comedy
Lack of emotion quotient
Characterizations

Final Analysis:

The fundamental blunder in the film is that when speaking about love it should be run on emotions and feeling but not on calculation. To make things worse, Baskar tries to explain the calculation with his own narrative style which was rather confusing. He had something noble and different in mind but he could not conceive it in the right manner on the screen. There is no emotion, no romance, no chemistry between the lead pair, no sentiment and above all, no comedy. At one stage, it becomes like a boring mathematics class where the audience have become students and are trying to understand what Professor Bhaskar is trying to explain on the love algorithm.

The other disappointment is the philosophy on love. While it is nice to have an ocean full of love, it is common sense that love alone is not life. They are two different entities and the essence of life is in striking a balance between both. Fortunately, what Baskar was trying to say ended up confusing many in the theatre but to those who may have understood a fraction of it, this is truly dangerous. On the other hand, there are quite a number of instances where Bhaskar tried to take the route of Gautam Menon but the difference is chalk and cheese.

The good side of the film is the songs and their picturization which was really impressive and visually appealing. Charan’s efforts in songs were commendable. The fight sequence which involves the spray cans was also creative and colorful. As for his much hyped sky diving stunt, that is not so appealing as expected.

Overall, the film is good on presentation but very poor in content and completely blotched on narration and concept. While the masses have nothing in it, the class audience will feel like they are in a classroom. And regarding the mega fans…well, it looks like 2010 is just not their year as their favorite heroes seem to be dealing with unconventional characters.

Story

Set on the backdrop of Australia, Ram (Ramcharan) is an youngster who loves graffiti but he doesn’t believe in love for lifetime. He wants to say truth all the while with respect to love life and live with open mind, open thought and open action with his partner.

This leads to a clash of ideology with Jaanu (Genelia) who studies in the same college and what starts out as a romantic tale between them both turns out to be a relationship of confusion and complications. Telugu Movie Reviews

Ram explains this entire story as his flash back while a police cop (Prakash Raj) asks him as a part of informal interrogation (!)

Jaanu believes in everlasting love but given the thought process of Ram, will they be together? Can they really love each other? All this forms the rest of the story.

Artists Performance:

Ramcharan did his best to fit the lover boy tag and he was neat in his dance and dialogue delivery. Two things he must avoid- a clean shave and full body shots while in a group. There was no emotional depth in his character so his body language was average.

Genelia was depressing and disappointing. Her costumes were bizarre, the make up was patchy and her face looked blotted. She has lost the innocence and charm. Perhaps it is age but the blame also goes to the styling and her image etching. Performance wise, she was regular and didn’t have any special acts.

Shahzahn comes like a breath of fresh air and though she was brief, she looks cute and attractive. She has the potential to take lead roles.

Prakashraj was regular, Brahmi’s comedy was not upto the mark, Prabhu and Pavitra Lokesh were alright, Vennela Kishore was wasted, Madhurima was quick but sweet, Naga Babu made his presence felt. The others didn’t have much to offer except filling the screens and rolling out few lines.

I am a very big fan of MOHAN BABU and I always supported him.
I even supported Mohan Babu when there was a controversy in VAJROTSAVALU.
But now when the point is clear that Chiru has not done anymistake and he is undergooing lot of pain, I couldn't stop myself as a human being. I wish no father in the world should face the problem which Chiru is facing now.

Chiru would have undergone many mental tensions and he solved it but when a part of the body ditches you then the pain will be more.

If some one had given pain to Chiru then he wouldn't have felt so bad but his own blood harmed him this time in the form of daughter.

shirish and Srija say that they love each other and they don't worry about Chiru's image.

They want a written statement from Chiru saying he won't harm the couple.

In my opinion a child who doesn't care about her dad's respect is a deadbody. So i don't think Chiru stoops down to harm a dead body and he doesn't need any thing in return from that.Srija should know this.

AS they asked Chiru to give a written statement that he wont harm them so in the same way can they give a written statement saying, SRIJA& SHIRISH DON'T NEED A SINGSLE PIE FROM CHIRU's PROPERTY.

They can't do it because Shirish has married Srija only for her money but not looking at her beauty. Hope she will realize it soon but what's the use till then everything will be lost.

Introduction to filmstars

INTRODUCTION:
When is an actor also a star? What is the relationship between performance and stardom? What stake does the star hold in the processes of film production? is there a difference between stardom and celebrity? And why are film stars so fascinating and alluring to us? These are some of the questions that will be addressed in this section.Yet,while these questions have always proved troubling to riorous academic scrutiny as we enter into cinema's third century in the all-consuming context of hypermediated cultur, the answers to such questions become even more complex.

Star As Commodity:
Until recently there were three principal ways in which critics adressed the question of stardom. The first locates the star within the economic contexs of film production and film marketing. During the ara of the studio system, in which creative and ttechnical personnel were tiled to long-term contracts, stars provided one of the principal means by which Hollywood offered audiences guarantees of predictability by embodying a set of particular expectations and by extension particular kinds of  pleasure Since the collapse of the studio system in the 1950 stars have become arguably the key element of the package around which movies are produced. Suan Hayward explains that producers will put up money for films that outherwise might not get off the ground Moreover enen a cursory glance at the promotional material surrounding a film's lauvch-paosters traillers, interviews in print, on TV and online as well as a host of further merchandising products-reveals the considerable stake stars hold in announcing its presence and generating an audience of suffient sixe to recoup costs. On this account then the star is understood as a speific form of industrial commodity insofar as like genre stars are a mechanism for selling movie tickets by guaranteeing certain pleasures and enaciting a commercial strategy for marketing films However a star's commercial capacity is inxtracably bound up with their ablity to be liked by large amounts of people from a range of cultural and national conexts The ramaining two aproaches to studying stars are sensitive to these more social and psychic aspects of stardom inasmuch as they turn away from industrial questions focusing instead on the ways in which the figure of the film star generates specific meanings and pleasures.
